IODOSORB Dressing Range is a highly effective topical antimicrobial which is proven to prevent formation of mixed-species biofilm, typical of chronic wounds, and also disrupt and kill mature biofilms, while enabling significantly faster healing in VLU’s compared to standard care.
Features and benefits:
- Promotes wound bed preparation by removing barriers to healing from the wound e.g. slough, pus, debris and biofilm
- Has a high absorption capacity to help establish moisture balance
- Absorbs up to 7x its own weight of wound exudate
- Shown to prevent and disrupt mature biofilms of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, as well as Staphylococcus aureus and mixed species typical of chronic wounds (in vitro)
- More effective in reducing bioburden and infection compared to standard care
The unique IODOSORB antimicrobial Dressing Range is made of cadexomer ‘smart’ micro-beads: spherical starch structures loaded with 0.9% elemental iodine.
The iodine is physically bound to the bead and provides sustained release when the bead comes into contact with wound fluid.
IODOSORB Dressing Range changes from brown to yellow/ white as the iodine is exhausted.
